My last blog =(

Well its been a very long 10 weeks and already it is time to turn in our final papers and move onto new terms. I have got to be honest, I have been very lazy and have not been working as hard as I should be. I hate to make excuses but I know it has been so hard for me to do my work because I am always doing something, I clean, do laundry, run errands, go to doctors appointments, and then to welfare appointments. This is when life as a mom is busy. It is all for the better. I am going to be getting a new stereo along with speakers installed into my car, I am super excited about that! The baby is doing great, he still has a bit of a cough but when I get him into the doctors I will be able to determine if there is something wrong with him, I am hoping he doesnt have asthma. Is asthma hereditary? My ex used to have it due to his mother smoking around him, and I am praying he doesn't because I don't have it so hopefully he doesn't either. Well class I will miss writing, it relieves a lot of stress. Have a good one, and thanks to all the people who read and gave me advice on my blogs.

  1. I think the predisposition to having allergies is hereditary. Allergies and asthma are closely related because asthma is a sort of allergic reaction to what is being inhaled. If that's the case, it's nobody's fault because the baby could be sensitive to something as simple as dust or the fur (dander) of a pet you may have. I have had allergies and asthma for many years, so I know a little something about it. Good luck with everything and I will keep my finger's crossed that the baby does not have asthma!
    Happy Easter.

  2. Hello Nicole:

I hope that your baby will be fine, and I hope that you will find some time now that this term is over to get some rest before the next one starts.

I wish you well in all of your future classes, and I will miss seeing your name in class. Please keep in touch and let us know how you and the baby are doing.

    Good luck with both.

  3. Nicole, it is difficult to set priorities when you have a new born. Things are ever changing while trying to adjust to a baby, and especially trying to get a little one into a routine. I can understand why school became a burden and not in your "top ten" things to do. Sometimes sleep just takes first place.

All of us in class who are moms have been in your shoes at one time or another. Just know that everything worth having comes with a price tag, that many are not willing to pay. Your education is your future.

Midnight tonight is the dead-line to turn in your final for a full grade. Work hard today and turn it in. Then you can take a break for a week or so to try and set up a school schedule that hopefully will work for you.

If you have reading assignments, read them to your baby. He doesn't understand the words, only your tone. Read it like you would a child's book. Read out loud. He will love the soothing tones in your voice and you will get much needed school readings completed.

It is a trick that works both for him and especially for you. Bonding time for both of you.

    Good Luck.

  4. Hey Nicole,

Your classmates are giving you good advice! What a great idea to read your homework and papers to your baby. He will love it! Thanks Peggy for that.

You will make it through this course, Nicole. I think you can be very proud considering being a new very young Mom. Keep up the good work.
